This Rarely Happens

This rarely happens.

It is natural that the asleep listens to the dust of his breathing while justifying his loneliness among a group of those attending his funeral.

It is natural,

but necessary too,

that others must make sure of his death being clean.

So they may be obliged to kill him again.

Then they call him with his favorite name.

But,

when a hand stretches out of a grave to shake hand with strangers,

this rarely happens.

Since it happened,

we- the ones attending his funeral- have lost the pleasure of cheering our names.

We’ve lost an innocent chance for murder,

while the poor man has lost a chance for another white death.

We all have win this stretching hand.
